At Deutsch Furniture Gallery, we’ve always loved helping our customers bring their spaces to life. In many ways, we have been offering design help for years, it just hasn’t been an official service until now. Because so many customers have come to us looking for guidance, we’re excited to finally introduce Deutsch Design as part of the family.

As a family-owned business, our heart has always been to help create beautiful, comfortable spaces that feel personal and meaningful. With our small team of designers, we’re here to make the process easier and more enjoyable, whether you need help with one room or your whole home.
We’re so happy to now offer this service officially and look forward to helping you create a space that brings lasting comfort, style, and memories.

I believe in designing spaces made for real life. Managing custom furniture design and in-home concepts at Deutsch Furniture Gallery has shown me the incredible impact of a perfectly tailored piece, down to the clean lines and the exact right fabric.

My design philosophy, however, goes beyond the blueprint. Informed by my experiences as a nurse and a mother, I understand what it takes to turn a house into a home. Whether we’re planning a full living room layout or finalizing a custom bed frame, I apply a caregiver’s meticulous attention to detail to ensure your space supports your family’s future. With years of experience creating personal and business spaces, I look forward to collaborating on your next project.

Every design journey starts with a conversation. We want to get to know you, your style, your needs, and how you want your space to feel, so we can help bring your vision to life. To help us better understand your project, we’ll ask you to complete a brief design questionnaire through our Google Form. This gives us a chance to learn more about your space, your preferences, and any inspiration you have before we begin, allowing us to make the most of your consultation. From there, we’ll guide you through the process with thoughtful recommendations, helpful suggestions, and support every step of the way. Whether you’re selecting furniture, finishes, fabrics, or planning the layout of your room, our goal is to make the experience enjoyable, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. No matter which consultation option you choose, we’re here to help create a space you’ll love for years to come.

We offer three types of design consultations to meet our customers wherever they are in the design process. Whether you prefer to connect from home, visit our showroom, or have a designer come to your space, we’ll help you choose the consultation that best fits your project. Each service is tailored to your needs, ensuring a personalized experience focused on creating a home you’ll love for years to come.

Virtual

Perfect for customers who aren’t local or prefer to meet from the comfort of home. During a video consultation, we’ll discuss your space, style, furniture needs, and answer any questions you have. We can also recommend finishes, fabrics, and wood species, and send samples when needed.

In-Store

Visit our showroom to explore our furniture in person and work one-on-one with a design consultant. We’ll help you compare styles, customize pieces, review wood and fabric samples, and create a design that fits your home and lifestyle.

In-Home

Our most comprehensive design service. A designer will visit your home to take measurements, assess your space, and help you select furniture, fabrics, finishes, and layouts that complement your home. This consultation is ideal for larger projects or anyone looking for a more personalized design experience.

We proudly offer in-home design consultations within a 30-mile radius of our showroom in Rochester, Minnesota. If you’re located outside that area, we’d still love to work with you! Our virtual design consultations allow us to help create a beautiful, personalized space no matter where you’re located.

Our design services are complimentary with the intention of purchasing furniture through us. Whether you prefer a phone consultation, a showroom visit, or an in-home consultation, we’re here to help guide you through the process of creating a space you’ll love.

Thoughtful design takes a little time. After gathering all the information about your space and style, we typically ask for 7–10 days to prepare a personalized design presentation and furniture selections for you to review.

Yes! We love incorporating meaningful pieces you already own into your new design. Simply let us know about any existing furniture or décor you’d like to keep when completing our design questionnaire, and we’ll thoughtfully build your new space around them.

Absolutely! Whether you’re refreshing a single room or furnishing a new home, we’re happy to help. To ensure each space receives the attention it deserves, we typically work on one or two rooms at a time.

Creating a room that feels balanced and comfortable starts with accurate measurements. During an in-home consultation, we’ll measure your space and recommend furniture that fits both the room and your lifestyle. If we’re working together virtually, we’ll guide you through the measurements we need so we can confidently recommend pieces that are the right scale for your home.

Yes! We specialize in handcrafted Amish furniture, giving you the opportunity to create pieces that truly fit your home and lifestyle. Many of our collections can be customized with your choice of wood species, stain color, hardware, and dimensions. We also offer several American made upholstered furniture lines with customizable fabrics, configurations, and comfort options, allowing you to create a piece that’s uniquely yours.

After your order is placed, we’ll submit it to the builder and keep you informed throughout the production process. Since each piece is made specifically for you, lead times will vary depending on what you’ve ordered. Amish furniture generally takes 12–18 weeks to complete, while upholstered furniture may arrive sooner. Once everything is ready, we’ll contact you to schedule delivery.

Because each piece is handcrafted to order, production times vary by builder. Most of our furniture is completed within 8–16 weeks. Upholstered furniture and other collections may have different lead times, and we’re always happy to provide the most current estimate when you’re ready to place your order.

We understand that sometimes changes are needed. Once your order is submitted to the builder, there is typically a 24-hour window to make changes. After that, modification options become limited as production begins. In some cases, changes such as stain color or hardware may still be possible, depending on where your order is in production. If you need to make a change, please contact us as soon as possible, and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate your request.
